About Sonia

Sonia is an international dressage rider, coach, mentor and trainer who has represented Great Britain. 

Having riding since she was a child, Sonia's professional training started when she joined John Lassetter at Goodwood as a working pupil at the age of 16. Working hard under the watchful eye of John and Char she was selected for the British Young Rider European team at the age of 17.

Her success continued as she competed nationally and internationally at the senior level. From Prix St George to Grand Prix. Her wins including the Jeffries Festival of Future Stars, best overseas Rider in Australia and Intermediare 1 in Poland. She has recently represented Great Britain at the CDI Small Tour in Saumur.

In addition to competing, Sonia is well established as a dedicated coach, mentor and trainer, taking riders all the way from beginners to international competitors.

Her many successes as a trainer include Erin Williams, Alex Hellings, Gemma Owen, Olivia Langley, Samantha Harrison, and Louise Juestesen.

Sonia now trains and works with her husband Philip Baines at Dunston Park Farm and runs clinics throughout the country, British Dressage training weekends and trains team members.
